At the crossroads of fire and light, Espace VERRE invites you to an evening where myth takes shape through creation. Inspired by mythological tales, this edition celebrates the creative flame and the alchemy of glass. Like Prometheus, glassmakers seize fire to shape matter—an act of both rebellion and renewal.
In the spirit of Hermes, they explore the mysteries of transmutation, revealing the hidden wisdom within the fusion of sand and fire. An evening to celebrate spirit, light, and gesture, where myth and material meet. In the studios, visitors will witness live demonstrations of glassblowing and flameworking—a living dialogue between heat, matter, and movement.
On the second floor, guests can discover the retrospective exhibition Myth, Metaphor and Pâte de verre by Donald Robertson, showcasing over forty years of creation and teaching by an artist who has left a lasting mark on the history of glass in Quebec. Renowned for his mastery of pâte de verre and lost-wax casting, Donald Robertson transforms matter into a language that is both poetic and symbolic, nourished by mythology, history, and universal metaphors. Through light and color, he explores the great questions of human existence while sensitively connecting ancient techniques with contemporary concerns.
Our boutique also offers a selection of works by Quebec glass artisans, allowing visitors to extend the experience and discover the vitality of glass art here at home.
