OPTICA is pleased to open its doors to the general public and to offer a night of artistic and creative discovery in a warm, relaxed setting. With family, friends, or on your own, come meet Milutin Gubash and get to know his practice in the framework of a lamp-making workshop.

In his exhibition, presented at OPTICA from January 18 to March 29, 2025, Milutin will be working with discarded and superfluous objects and transforming them into usable objects. We invite you to join him in creating a lamp from objects recycled from your daily life.

Three one-hour workshops will be co-hosted by the artist (in English) and the OPTICA mediator (in French). We ask you to bring one or more objects from home in order to give them new life—and a pop of light! OPTICA will provide all the required tools and materials (wire, plugs, etc.) for producing the works free of charge. Participation in the workshop is also free, though reservations are required and places are limited. Additionally, the exhibitions will be open all evening for those who would like to visit freely. Hot drinks and cookies will also be served.

Apart from enabling an extraordinary encounter between a multidisciplinary artist from Montreal and the general public, this event is also an occasion to experiment with new artistic techniques and practices, all in a fun, relaxed, and inclusive atmosphere.
