On the occasion of Nuit blanche à Montréal, CIRCA art actuel presents a finissage marking the closing of the exhibition Real and Virtual : An Exhibition Where Everything Is in Its Place and Nothing Is Missing by Guillaume La Brie.

The exhibition brings together eight sculptures and installations produced between 2022 and 2025. Together, they form an immersive environment in which each work explores the tension between the real and the virtual. Guillaume La Brie’s approach is grounded in a distinctive creative method that begins with deliberately incomplete physical objects. The artist adds a virtual component that “repairs” or extends the object in a partial and utopian way. This gesture, both poetic and critical, questions the notion of integrity, the fragility of visual truth, and the vulnerability of perception in the digital age.

CIRCA’s finissage will center on an open conversation with the artist, during which he will present his approach, working methods, and the reflections that shaped the exhibition. Visitors will be invited to move freely through the space, engage with the artist, and extend their visit by discovering the exhibition by Marie-Claude Lepieze, presented simultaneously in CIRCA art actuel’s second gallery.

A bar service and a musical atmosphere will help create a convivial setting, true to the spirit of Nuit blanche. The event will foster encounters between artists and the public in an accessible, welcoming environment where the aesthetic experience goes hand in hand with a moment of shared exchange.
