Active for 50 years now, l'École de joaillerie de Montréal offers three training components, namely: college, basic techniques training and advanced training in the form of master classes. The school is constantly active in the Quebec cultural scene, getting involved in the community and contributing to public education about artistic professions.
On the occasion of the 2024 edition of Nuit blanche, the École de joaillerie de Montréal will put on the exhibition “An Odyssey in the World of Enchanted Jewelery”, which will be launched during the MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE festival. École de joaillerie de Montréal is pleased to present the creations of emerging jewelers who explore jewelry from fantasy worlds. Immerse yourself in the world of supernatural jewelry! Our next exhibition celebrates the fusion between art and mysticism through unique creations. Guest artists explore the extraordinary, drawing on world myths, legends and cultures to create jewelry that goes beyond the limits of reality. From the symbolic power of gems to amulets charged with mystical energy, this exhibition explores magic. You will be able to admire unique creations that transcend the boundaries of reality, capturing the very essence of supernatural jewelry. From gems charged with mystical energy to shapes inspired by ancient legends, this exhibition offers a sensory immersion into the unexplored. Let yourself be carried away by the captivating beauty of these works which celebrate the meeting between the extraordinary and the aesthetic, thereby redefining the traditional perception of jewelry.
By opening our doors to the public, we will also give visitors the chance to discover our workshops, in which they will witness all the stages of manufacturing a rod: from forming to assembly, through welding to polishing. . We will offer the public the opportunity to order custom-made bangles, which will be made on site by our students, the very evening of the Nuit blanche. This activity aims to familiarize the public with manual jewelry making techniques, while exposing visitors to a wide range of contemporary jewelry practices.
