For the 2026 edition of Nuit blanche à Montréal, Les Vespérales presents the Ambient Organ Night, an evening of immersive ambient and experimental organ music at the breathtaking Église du Sacré-Cœur-de-Jésus in Montréal’s Centre-Sud. The event is presented in partnership with Suoni per il Popolo and the Canadian International Organ Competition.
The evening's three sets feature Secondsight, Annie Bloch, and Earth World Collaborative, all showcasing the Sacré-Cœur’s unique collection of pipe organs and accompanied by projections and immersive lighting. Activities will take place between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Between concerts you are invited to explore the venue and experience a special sound installation with the LIMINARE experimental hyperorgan.
On the program:
- Secondsight (Hajia Maa) presents a meditative ambient soundscape with pipe organ.
- Annie Bloch (Cologne, Germany) presents her project luvt for portatif organ and electronics.
- And lastly, Earth World Collaborative offers a concert of spatialized music for organ and electronics, exploring the instruments and acoustics of the Sacré-Cœur. Attendees are invited to listen to the concerts seated, walking around the church, or even lying on the ground to be fully immersed in the sound.
Founded in 2024, Les Vespérales is a new year-round series showcasing original experimental creations for the unique collection of pipe organs at the Sacré-Cœur.
